The Dallas Cowboys just can not handle a little success. After stunning the New York Giants in Week 1, the Cowboys flopped against the Seattle Seahawks in Week 2nd Before THEY could blink, the Cowboys were down 10-0. That was all the Seahawks needed, as they went on to win 27-7.
Poor Preparation
The Cowboys had 10 days to PREPARE for this game. That Should have been plenty of time to adjust to the time difference and get ready for the Seahawks. But the Cowboys were flat from the start. Running back Felix Jones fumbled the opening punt, and the Seahawks capitalized with a field goal. The Cowboys went three and out on Their next Possession, and a blocked punt resulted in a Seahawks touchdowns. The score was 10-0 after just four and a half minutes of play. The Cowboys moved the ball on Their third Possession, but the drive ended with a bad Interception by Quarterback Tony Romo. The Cowboys started the game with a fumbles, blocked a punt and Interception. They were not prepared for this game.
Romo was hoping for some redemption in Seattle. In the 2006 NFC wild-card game, Romo bobbled a snap That could have given the Cowboys a game-winning field goal. A win on Sunday could have given him some solace. But Romo engineered just one scoring drive. He also added to the Cowboys' woes by throwing a bad Interception in the first quarter.
Nonexistent Running Game
The Cowboys could not get Their running game going. The Seahawks held running back DeMarco Murray to 44 Yards rushing. It was a disappointing follow-up performance for Murray, who GAINED 131 Yards rushing against the Giants in Week first
No Defense for the Run Defense
The Cowboys' run defense was just as bad as Their offense. Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch rushed for 122 Yards and a touchdowns. The Seahawks amassed 182 total rushing Yards.
The Cowboys looked like Contenders in Week first BUT THEY flopped in Week 2 against the Seahawks. Now the Cowboys go home to face a feisty Tampa Bay Buccaneers team. The Buccaneers gave the Giants all sorts of problems on Sunday before falling late. In the first two weeks of the season, the Cowboys have looked like two very different teams. It will be interesting to see Which one shows up in Week 3rd
